Nesting bird populations here may be densest in the world. Few doubt it who have seen the Vestmanna Bird Cliffs in the Faroes literally covered with fulmars, kittiwakes, razorbills, puffins, and guillemots, and inland, enormous colonies of golden plovers, snipes, oystercatchers, eiders, and others.
